Apple has stated that upcoming changes to iOS will go a step further to protect users' privacy. However, a group of app developers recently informed Apple that some of the changes will harm their businesses. Developers blame the company's anti-competitive behaviour in distributing its software to the new showrunners.
Many app developers and app development firms who create apps for the iOS platform have contacted Apple with concerns about the ongoing change in iOS 13- Apple changed the way location tracking permissions work in iOS 13, and apps no longer have the option to "Always Allow" location tracking area following.
According to a copy of the email audited by The Information, the pioneers of many app development companies expressed their concerns to Apple CEO last Friday about the company's new limitations on location-tracking apps in the upcoming version of iOS. They accuse Apple of having a "double standard" in its new operating system for how apps can use location data.

The organisations that wrote to CEO are concerned that there will no longer be an easily accessible "Always Allow" option. Users can now enable "Always Allow" in the Settings app's Privacy section. However, it is not available by default and requires additional steps.
According to the app developers, this change may surprise less-technical users, who will accept the app isn't working properly unless they figure out how to change their iOS Settings to ensure the app has the best possible consents.
Developers claimed that their work had been disrupted.
The User Experience
The developer's argument is a valid assessment of user behaviour and how such a shift might affect their apps. The additional friction of going to Settings to toggle a switch so an app can capacity can cause users to abandon apps. It's also why, to a lesser extent, apps like Safari advertisement blockers and iOS replacing keyboards never really caught on, as they require additional means, such as the iOS Settings.
The App's Features
Apple's changes with iOS 13 do not completely break these apps. They expect the applications to handle user onboarding instructions. Instead of requesting the "Always Allow" permission, they must direct users to the iOS Settings screen or limit the apps' functionality until the "Always Allow" permission is granted.
Factors Affecting Privacy
The letter also mentioned that in iOS 13, Apple would not allow developers to use PushKit for anything other than internet voice calls — once again, because a few developers mishandled this toolbox to collect private user data.
Apple's Reaction to the Letter:
The Information prompted a response from Apple. Apple claims that the changes it makes to the operating system are "in service to the user" and their security. It also discovered that any apps it distributes from the App Store must follow similar procedures.
